The SBA: An overview of Programs & Services and their role in the Recovery Act

Learn about the U.S. Small Business Administration's many programs and services available to small business owners as well as changes in the agency's lending programs related to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Learn how to access information and where to go for additional assistance.

OUR SPEAKER

Nancy Rackear joined the U.S. Small Business Administration in October of 2007 as a Marketing Executive. She speaks to her audience from experience. Her entrepreneurial journey began as a sales representative in the garment industry. She has worked as a retail consultant and a recording studio manager in Los Angeles. She ran her own marketing firm in South Florida where she produced The Whole Life Expo in 1999 and the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day in 2001.  Currently, Nancy travels a six-county territory speaking to entrepreneurs about the rewards of business ownership and the support available to them from the SBA.

 

ABOUT THE CIRCLE

The Women’s Business Mentoring Circle provides a forum for learning and connecting with other women business owners. Each meeting consists of 30 minutes of open networking, a 30 minute keynote speaker (including time for questions) and 1 hour of focused, break-out mentoring in smaller groups. During the breakout, the small groups discuss various business concerns and focus on those issues that are blocking success.  Participants provide guidance, ideas and feedback to each other and help in the development of skills, techniques and perspectives.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND 

This event is for all women business owners who want to teach as well as learn from others. You are welcome at any point in your entrepreneurial journey – whether it be as a seasoned business owner or a new start-up.
