How to Price Your Business & Make a Profit Print
The purpose of this seminar is to define and explain business profitability, as well as, the effects of pricing and expenses on profits.  When completed, participants should be able to effectively price their product or service in order to make a profit. The participants will come to understand how Labor Burden, Overhead, Break-even and Profit Margin play important roles in pricing for profit.

  • How your Chart of Accounts is laid out, and more specifically, how your Profit and Loss Statement is structured and formatted, is extremely important to calculating pricing.
  • Calculating labor burden and overhead is used in establishing total costs, in pricing calculations, for the purpose of achieving targeted profitability.
  • Calculating your break-even evaluates the relationship between costs, volume, and profit.  This evaluation assists business owners in determining the effects of financial decisions before having to make them.
