Wachovia Foundation has donated $20,000 to the Center for Technology, Enterprise, & Development (TED Center), a agency devoted to helping individuals gain the knowledge and technical skills necessary to begin and grow their businesses. A portion of the Wachovia donation is designated to the TED Center’s Florida Women’s Business Center (FWBC), a program dedicated to the individual professional development of women in business. The FWBC is the result of a grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration's Office (SBA). Wachovia’s donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar as part of the SBA grant. The SBA funding is only accessible after the FWBC raises funds independently through donations. It relies on the generosity of the community to help meet its matching fund goals. The TED Center is proud to partner with Wachovia, a bank that prides itself on being committed to building strong and vibrant communities, improving quality of life, and making a positive difference where we live and work. Wachovia continually supports initiatives that advance entrepreneurs or help to gain an understanding of business owner needs and co-sponsor research and educational seminars, retreats and business forums on how to improve and grow a business. Wachovia’s $20,000 donation will enable the center to continue to provide valuable services to the small business community. Wachovia has truly proven its commitment of reinvesting in the community by doubling its donation to the center from $10,000 in 2007! |
