Florida Women's Business Center Expands Into Broward County

We are pleased to announce that a FWBC office is back in Broward County.  Thanks to the Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s generous support we are now located in their office at 330 N. Federal Highway, Hollywood, FL, 33020.  This new partnership between the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and the Florida Women’s Business Center will bring training and resources to local Broward County business owners trying to stay afloat in the current economic climate or initiate entrepreneurial ventures.  The FWBC’s primary objectives are to provide: training, counseling, mentoring, resources and support to women entrepreneurs. The FWBC will offer a variety of educational workshops each month that are FREE or $15!  Workshops will start in May 2010.  Reserve your spot now for an upcoming workshop or sign up for a FREE counseling session.

The Florida Women’s Business Center’s headquarters is based in Palm Beach County, in the city of Delray Beach.  Primarily the women who live in Palm Beach County commute to the center to attend trainings and receive business counseling. The center provides phone counseling to those women who reside in other counties and who find it too far a distance to travel.  Thus the expansion of the FWBC program into Broward County and into the city of Hollywood provides an opportunity for women from Broward County to benefit from more than just phone counseling, but to have face to face contact with a Business Counselor and access to the same business development training workshops offered in Palm Beach County.   In addition women from the surrounding counties Miami-Dade, Collier, and Monroe may travel to the Broward County for services too.

The Florida Women’s Business Center (FWBC) is an entrepreneur resource center dedicated to assisting women in achieving their dreams by helping them start and run successful businesses.  The FWBC’s primary objectives are to provide: training, counseling, mentoring, resources, referrals and support to women entrepreneurs.  Areas of assistance include but are not limited to: Business Start Up, Business Plans, Business Recovery, Financing, Marketing, Accounting and Operations.  The FWBC is a collaborative partner of the U.S.  Small Business Administration and is one of its 100 national Women’s Business Centers. All services will be available at the Chamber satellite office.

The Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce (GHCC) was created in 1926, and is a 501 c 6, non-profit organization committed to helping and promoting the interests of the business community in Hollywood. The Chamber is a membership organization governed by its Executive Committee and its Board of Directors who lead the chamber in its pursuit of advancing the mission of the Chamber. The GHCC represents local business interests, promotes economic growth, provides leadership in community affairs and delivers services and programs for its business members.

The Mission of the GHCC is to help members be successful; be a comprehensive resource center; make Hollywood the community of choice to live, work, and play; promote Hollywood as a tourist destination; strengthen the partnership between the business community, city government and agencies; create, inspire and facilitate community leadership; and foster a business climate that promotes integrity and excellence in all endeavors. The GHCC recognized that the FWBC services aligned well with its own and generously donated office space in their center so that the FWBC could open a branch in Hollywood.  To learn more about GHCC, visit www.hollywoodchamber.org
