Seabron A. Smith 

Seabron A. Smith, the Executive Director of the Center for Technology, Enterprise and Development, Inc., fondly known as the TED Center is charged with overall leadership of programs and the Center's mission which is to provide entrepreneur training and counseling opportunities, small business assistance and technology related services to residents of Palm Beach County and the South Florida region.

He is a native of Florida and a graduate of Albany State University, Albany, Ga, with a Bachelor of Business Administration with emphasis in Business Management. Seabron previously worked with the Palm Beach County Private Industry Council as District Manager of Southern Palm Beach County (now known as Workforce Alliance), specializing in job training and employment services.

Seabron is a professional with a history of creating and maintaining successful linkage between the private and public sectors. He is an experienced fundraiser and has demonstrated strengths in program development and project management using a comprehensive approach to community development which involves the development of several programs and services to hundreds of professionals and non-professionals resulting in the creation of many small businesses. He has developed and applied complex start-up procedures to promote business development, resulting in job creation, economic growth and community revitalization.

Seabron's goal is to create and develop a concept that will be promoted as the "Center for Entrpreneurial Innovations". This new concept will adopt a comprehensive approach to promoting and assisting small businesses.

NOTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

  • The Atlantic Grove Project, a national best practice model for non-profit, for profit partnerships, located in Delray Beach, is an $18,500,000 mixed use project featuring 55 townhouses, 46,000 square feet of retail/office and 20 condominiums. 
  • The creation of a Community Resource Center and Mobile Computer Training Lab, utilizing 20 laptop computers with wireless internet access, which was made possible with a grant from the Hewlett Packard Corporation.
  • The development of a Youth Entrepreneurship Program that engages a combination of 30 high school sophomores, juniors and seniors with a college coaching component. 85% of those seniors have received full scholarships to major universities.
  • The development of a Women's Business Center sponsored by in colaboration with the Small Business Administraion (SBA), with a mission of training and counseling services for women owned business. This program services 22 counties throughout South Florida.
