Brianica DeFranc is a Certified Full Spectrum Doula and owner of Birth Your Way.  Her connection with the Florida Woman’s Business Center provided her with a foundation to build the business and realize her dream of making a difference in the lives of women, families and communities.

Brianica and her husband, Jadnack have four children together.  She became a Doula to help families achieve a blissful birth experience and to work towards creating a safe and equitable space for all to thrive and survive in. 

Surviving a miscarriage at a young age was scary, traumatic, and a life-changing event. Not understanding what was happening and why it was happening was depressing and not easy to process. She did not truly process the extent of the trauma until she was pregnant again. Upon seeing a positive pregnancy test she was overcome with doubt in herself and her abilities. Besides feeling unprepared to be a parent, Brianica was also terrified of experiencing another miscarriage. With patience, support, and time, she began to heal and process her experience in a healthy capacity. 

Upon learning that women and children of color are dying at a higher rate during childbirth compared to other women, Brianica became focused on making a difference. After experiencing a healthy, non-medicated, natural home birth she wanted women to know and see that it is possible to tap into your instincts and Birth Your Way. Her decision to become a Doula is built on educating and advocating for families to have positive and fulfilling birth experiences while creating a safe space for expecting people of color to survive and thrive.

Her passion is to educate and empower parents to have the birth experience which they desire. Birth is a life changing experience, which is why an important focus in her practice is dedicated to mental, physical, and emotional wellness.
