Claudia Ramirez

In 2004, Claudia Ramirez relocated from Singapore to the US where she worked as a singer and studied English for 2 years. Previous to that, in Colombia where she was born, Claudia was a reporter and a singer.  She left her country to pursue a better life but mainly her dreams. As a singer, she performed in several countries in South America, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Mexico, and more.   Claudia was able to secure work with Spanish-speaking TV networks in South Florida including Univision, Telemundo and some small production roles for Emilio and Gloria Estefan.  She continued securing singing gigs because she is a good singer and it was, on her own words, a very profitable part-time job.

Upon getting married and having 2 daughters, her career was put on hold while she dealt with the mom-wife busy life, also some diagnoses and health issues came along.  She was happy but something was missing. During this “downtime”, Claudia also got Covid, got sick, faced the possibility of dying without fulfilling her dreams,  felt stuck, frustrated, and somehow defeated but knew she had to reinvent herself.   She decided to get a bachelor’s degree in Music. Upon graduation, she became a teacher and event organizer opening a company, Leclu Music and Events LLC.

Claudia Ramirez’s journey…”The Singer” went to school and became a TV producer, the TV producer became the event’s organizer, the event’s organizer went back to school and became a professional musician, the professional musician became a voice and music teacher, and the professional teacher became an entrepreneur and a business owner.

Today, Claudia has 117 students learning music and art.  The support from the Florida Women’s Business Center provided the opportunity to move from her garage to larger space and serve more students.  Claudia realizes her” business” began a long time ago but knows the pieces are coming together with a business mentality, and a plan to take the dream to the next level.  She is feeling successful, confident, and happy with the goal of leading people in her community to pursue and achieve.   Claudia is on a mission to allow people to see that it’s possible to be an immigrant and not just merely survive but thrive and contribute. I want the children, and the seniors in my community to have the best of two worlds; the cultural richness of our Latin-American roots and the structure and endless possibilities of the greatest country in the world, the U.S
