Mona Straub

Mona Straub is founder, designer, and brains behind Just Fur Fun® a line of Exquisite Pet and People accessories.  She sells beautiful, American made collars, leashes, brow bands and other accessories.  High quality, hand stitched leather with hand sewn beading.  Mona has been a client, advocate and supporter of the Florida Women’s Business Center & TED Center for more than 10 years.  As her business grew, expanded, and took on new directions, Mona interacted with other clients of the center and became a mentor, sounding board and inspiration.  Clients seeking to do business with Amazon were referred to Mona for guidance on various revenue paths that are available.  Amazon utilized purchase orders to buy product from Mona’s company versus getting paid after product was sold on the Amazon website.

Through the expansion of Just for Fun, Mona partnered with other small business owners to sell and showcase their products in her booths at Equestrian competitions.  Who knew that a large percentage of horse owners own 5 – 4 dogs.  This information allowed Mona to focus on the Equestrian world and take her product to buyers.  The willingness to share her ups and downs with other women in business expanded an interest in helping other women in business. She is inspired by successful women and strives to be an inspiration to those seeking to develop their careers and build their businesses. She is currently writing a book and is in the research stage of starting several other new businesses in 2023 and 2024.

Mona is a member of the Advisory Council for the Florida Women's Business Center and is a member of Women in the Pet Industry and the International Association of Women. She was awarded 2017 Pet Industry Women of the Year Solopreneur Award and the 2019 Women of Influence in the Pet Industry Award.

Mona’s participation in multiple organizations for over 40 plus years has earned her recognition for several other Volunteer Awards.  Her philosophy of giving back began in her teens and she was named the Volunteer of the Year by Disney making her, at the time, the youngest recipient of the Disney award.
